If the fuel line at a car a "do it yourself job" or more to bring feesable instead of to a mechanical?
My 1978 Buick Regal, Carburetor is leaking fuel. I found the leak on the line under my car, where part of the rotten line / is rusted through. After examing the rest of the trail I noticed several other areas of rust, could cause similar problems in the future. I decided it would be best to simply replace the entire pipeline now. A colleague suggested that it even braided with a "steel" fuel line. How rational is it to replace me or would it be better to bring to my mechanic? How much do you think it would cost, it must be repaired professionally? .. Insight would be much appreciated.
On your carburetor Regal 78 I would not hesitate for a moment before executing a flexible rubber fuel line from tank to the pump. The only consideration is to be careful to distance him from of moving components, hold it above the lowest part of the frame to protect it from damage from road debris and secure it as often as possible with nylon cable ties, to prevent it from drooping or sagging below where it could get snagged on something else. Definitely a DIY project.
